Fall Foliage Ride

Wednesday and Thursday, I took the Wing for a ride to see the fall foliage along the Blue Ridge Parkway and some surrounding mountain roads.  Great weather and cool temperatures added to the autumn feeling.  The leaves were at their best color, so I shared the Parkway with a lot of other motorcycles.  Traveled scenic byways on the way home that were tree lined with fall color and void of traffic.  I thought the ride would be 400-500 miles, but ended up doing 700.  The temperatures were such that I used the heated grips and seat, enabling a ride with leather jacket instead of Pillsbury Doughman coat, Nice.

XMoto Trip

I just got back from a two night trip of about 550 miles on the XMoto.  The highlight was a guided tour of the Chancellorsville Battlefield put on by Morton’s BMW.  We also followed the route taken by Stonewall Jackson’s ambulance to the railway junction where he ultimately died six days later.  He died of pneumonia which is now believed he had prior to being wounded by his own men.

Event Calendar Added

I’ve added a calendar for motorcycle events such as rallies, shows, etc. in the upper right of the page, above the Blog list. When you click on the link, the calendar will open in a new window. Anyone can add events to the calendar. Since the calendar is by google, it is linked to your Gmail account. You can actually add to it without logging into Four Riders, but you will need to log into Gmail.

If anyone has suggestions or ideas about useability or adding features to the blog, please let me know. Sometime in the future I may move the blog to a WordPress hosting. WordPress has a lot more customization features than Blogger.
