I’ve just discovered some interesting blogs and added them to the blogroll. I like the site True Biker Spirit. They have a very nice slideshow with tons of pictures of classic bikes in Europe. I highly recommend it, there are a lot of pictures!

CBR 250 Test Ride

Yesterday I took a ride on the R65 to enjoy our beautiful spring weather and to stop by and see what new bikes they had at the Honda shop. They had gotten in all the new models with the exceeption of the new 700 that isn’t due for several months. They had five new CBR 250’s covering all three colors and both ABS and non-ABS models. They offered me a test ride on a red-whire-blue ABS unit and I jumped at the chance to try one out. The bike is super agile, comfortable and seemed to have addequate pep. Since it was brand new, I didn’t run it very high in the RPM range, nor ride it more than a few miles, but it was far enough to convince me that I would like to have one. I recommend a test ride and enjoying the pleasures of a little bike again. Fun Bike.

Air Cooled Boxer, On The Way Out

I had a service done on my XMoto this week and the owner of Morton’s BMW had just gotten back from the dealer meeting. He said that all signs are that 2012 will be the last year of the air cooled boxer, as it will be replaced with a water cooled boxer in 2013. There are several different color schemes for the 2012 GS1200, one of which is “red framed” with white body work and the triple black is also available again. They had just received the first red frame GS and it is the best looking GS I’ve seen in a long time! I would love to get an air cooled GS before they get even more comlicated with water cooling and it would have to be the red frame. Too bad I’m about $18,000 short on the funds to get it!!!
