Wednesday and Thursday, I took the Wing for a ride to see the fall foliage along the Blue Ridge Parkway and some surrounding mountain roads. Great weather and cool temperatures added to the autumn feeling. The leaves were at their best color, so I shared the Parkway with a lot of other motorcycles. Traveled scenic byways on the way home that were tree lined with fall color and void of traffic. I thought the ride would be 400-500 miles, but ended up doing 700. The temperatures were such that I used the heated grips and seat, enabling a ride with leather jacket instead of Pillsbury Doughman coat, Nice.

XMoto Trip
I just got back from a two night trip of about 550 miles on the XMoto. The highlight was a guided tour of the Chancellorsville Battlefield put on by Morton’s BMW. We also followed the route taken by Stonewall Jackson’s ambulance to the railway junction where he ultimately died six days later. He died of pneumonia which is now believed he had prior to being wounded by his own men.
Ride With Chad
Chad has been home for a visit and we were able to get away for two nights and ride the mountains. We did the Skyline Drive, sunny with cool temps and clear air. It was great to get a ride in together again; we rode the R65 and the Wing. There were twelve m/c’s at the motel the first night!
Wing Takes Flight
Just got back from my first trip on the Wing. I did the Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park and a little of the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 800 miles round trip from home. It was very pleasant in the mountains, but a brutal heat wave going and coming. The Wing did super with the ride and handling, great torque and good mileage. Cruised on auto pilot and listened to tunes while traveling on the slab. The CBS (combined braking system) is a real plus!
